Zamil Steel awarded SAR 46 million contract for Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery Clean Fuels Project

Zamil Steel Structural Steel Division (SSD), a unit of Zamil Industrial Investment Company (Zamil Industrial) and the leading fabricator and supplier of structural steel products in the Middle East, has been awarded a contract worth SAR 46 million (USD 12.3 Million) for the fabrication and supply of steel works for the Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery Company (SAMREF) Clean Fuels Project located in the western region of Saudi Arabia.

The contract was signed on Monday, 31st January 2011.

The scope of the contract calls for the fabrication and supply of the structural steel requirements for the SAMREF Clean Fuels Project. SAMREF is a 400,000 barrel per day oil refinery and an equally owned joint venture between Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and Mobil Yanbu Refining Company Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation) located at Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah, Saudi Arabia.

Worley Parsons is responsible for the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the SAMREF Clean Fuels Project, which aims to reduce the sulfur levels in gasoline and diesel to 10 parts per million (ppm) in order to meet the environmental regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Zamil Steel will begin the supply of the steel structures during the third quarter of 2011, and continue through the end of the third quarter of 2012. The contract's positive impact on the company's consolidated financials will be visible upon completion of each stage.
