Zamil Steel.. Success Partners in the Kingdom’s Maritime Industrial Sector Development
Thursday, 5th February 2026
Zamil Steel was honored by Saudi Aramco during the Mechanical Completion Ceremony of the King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries and Services Project, with a special appreciation trophy recognizing our substantial contribution to this strategic national project, delivering in excess of 50,000 MT of steel over more than six years of engineering Excellence, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to project success.
This large-scale project, located in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City, is designed to establish Saudi Arabia as a global leader in maritime production and to develop a world-class facility for offshore fabrication, new shipbuilding, and comprehensive Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services. The facility is equipped to handle Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) and other large vessels.
Zamil Steel was initially awarded the fabrication and supply of approximately 22,000 MT of pre-engineered steel structures for a major building. Due to its outstanding performance and commitment to deadlines, an additional 25,500 MT of steel for buildings was awarded in later phases of the project.
The primary challenge of this project was addressing complex engineering and technical issues, managing material procurement and the supply chain, and orchestrating the fabrication, logistics, and installation of massive assemblies, up to 45 MT. All of this was executed to the highest standards within an extremely tight schedule, meeting the opening ceremony deadline.
As part of the Maritime Yard Program, Zamil Steel was awarded the Ship Manufacturing Facilities “three packages” and the Engine Manufacturing Factory (EMF), demonstrating our critical role in developing the industrial capabilities of the Kingdom’s Maritime sector.
Our Engineering Division was also recognized with the prestigious “Tekla BIM Award” in the 'Industrial' category, highlighting our leadership in digital engineering.
Zamil Steel remains committed to supporting Saudi Arabia’s industrial transformation through excellence, innovation, and strong partnerships.
We extend our gratitude to the Aramco teams who led and hosted the ceremony. We also thank our main‑contractor partners SEPCO, PowerChina, Sinohydro, and Khonaini International for their trusted collaboration throughout this journey.
