Zamil Steel Vietnam General Director receives Vietnam Prominent Entrepreneur Award 2010

Zamil Steel Vietnam's General Director, George Kobrossy was honorably awarded the 'Vietnam Prominent Entrepreneurs Award' by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on the occasion of the Vietnam's Entrepreneurs' Day.This is the second time he was awarded this title, in which his first award was received in 2008.

The awards ceremony which was held in Hanoi Opera House, honoured 100 entrepreneurs who recorded good business performance and significantly contribute in promotion of the economic growth of the nation. The evaluation criteria include business revenues, contribution in technological renovations, and effective policies for workers.

'If we consider entrepreneurs to be the owners or managers of economic production or trade units, the country has a total of about 4 million entrepreneurs and the quality of entrepreneurs has improved along with the growth in the number of businesses, and here are the most excellent ones' said Dr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of VCCI during the opening speech of the Awards Ceremony.

During the interview after the ceremony, George Kobrossy joyfully remarked, 'I believe that for any entrepreneur to get this award, it is also the recognition for the company. I feel honored that the Vietnamese Government has granted us the award for the second time, which is the recognition for my efforts, the efforts of all Zamil Steel Vietnam's co-workers, a majority of whom are Vietnamese and the recognition for our company's achievements in Vietnam and the whole region.'

George Kobrossy, who is originally from Lebanon, has lived in Vietnam for 14 years and has been leading Zamil Steel Vietnam as General Director since 1998.
