Zamil Steel officially inaugurates second Vietnam facility

Zamil Steel officially inaugurated its second factory in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, at the Amata Industrial Park in southern Dong Nai province on Wednesday 23 April 2008.
The official ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Abdulrahman Al Zamil, Chairman - Zamil Industrial and the governor of the Dong Nai province.
Attending dignitaries included HE the Saudi ambassador to Thailand Mr. Nabil Ashri, and Mr. Khalid Al Zamil, Managing Director - Zamil Industrial, as well as several government officials and representatives, and senior Zamil Steel executives from the company's Saudi Arabia and Vietnam facilities.
The new Vietnam factory boasts a production capacity of 4,500 metric tons a month of pre-engineered buildings and other steel products. Total investment in the new plant is estimated at SAR 75 million (USD 20 million).
This factory will increase the total production of Zamil Steel Vietnam from 50,000 metric tons to 100,000 metric tons of steel buildings annually.
The state of the art facility will also have the capabilities to fabricate two new product lines - Structural Steel and Open Web Joists, providing a wider range of steel building solutions and product options to satisfy ZSV customers, both in the domestic and export markets.
At the opening ceremony of the new factory, Adnan Al Mansour, President of Zamil Steel Industries, stated: "The demand for high-quality pre-engineered steel buildings is growing rapidly, and Zamil Steel Vietnam, as the leading international manufacturer of PEB, has become a major part of our strategy to get closer to our customers. This new plant was carefully and strategically positioned for that purpose - to aid ZSV in meeting their demands within the shortest possible delivery period."
