Zamil Steel, the leading manufacturer of pre engineered buildings in Asia and Africa, has announced the completion of the expansion of its pre-engineered steel buildings (PEB) manufacturing facilities in Dammam. Larger manufacturing areas have been added; new machinery and state-of-the-art robotic equipment have been commissioned to boost its production capacity to over 100,000 metric tons (MT) per year.

"This represents an increase of over 30% in our capacity over the past year," said Khalid Abdulla Al Zamil, President, Zamil Steel. "This planned expansion will enable us to service efficiently the growing demands of our customers domestically and internationally. Our production capacity will give us a clear edge in responding to all our clients' fast track demands."

Zamil Steel continues to deliver its total building solutions to 75 countries worldwide through 50 international sales offices and a vast network of certified builders. The company has been revolutionizing the building industry by introducing the pre-engineered buildings concept to new and challenging projects.

"We have been awarded and are executing major projects in the region, like the 120,000 square meter (8,500 MT) Aziz Mall, in Jeddah, and this expansion is to ensure that we maintain the timely quality of service that our clients are accustomed to. We have plans underway to further increase our annual PEB production capacity to reach 120,000 MT by the end of the first quarter of 2005," added Khalid Al Zamil.

"We have expanded our production capabilities in our other facilities in Egypt and Vietnam as well to meet the steadily growing world demand on steel buildings. This will further enhance our efficiency and strengthen our leadership position throughout Asia and Africa to enable us to respond to various market segments," concluded Khalid Al Zamil.
