Zamil Steel is awarded major poultry farm project in Oman

Zamil Steel announced that it has signed the contract to design, fabricate and supply all the steel building for A”saffa Poultry Farms project that will be located in Thumrait, in the southern Dhofar regional of the Sultanate of Oman.

The SAR 12.5 million contract includes the supply of 86 buildings to the main contractor National Contracting & Trading Co., based in Muscat, Oman with a total covered area of 118,000m2.

“We have been working on this project for quite some time” says Nasser El-Ali, Zamil Steel’s Area Manager in the United Arab Emirates, who is also responsible for the market of Oman.

“The project was value-engineered by our Engineering Department to provide the most economical design solution, taking into consideration the serviceability of the buildings.” He adds.

The supply of the buildings to site will start in December 2002 and is expected to be completed in less than 4 months.

Zamil Steel is the largest pre-engineered buildings manufacturer is Asia and Africa, with a capacity to produce more than 500,000 m2 of pre-engineered buildings per month at its plant in Saudi Arabia. The company also has factories in Egypt, Vietnam and China.

Zamil Steel is a unit of Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC), a publicly traded company, which includes two other units, Zamil Air Conditioners and Zamil Glass.
